Golden Oriole Oriolus oriolus

A successful breeding at En Hanaziv: A pair with to fledglings on the 17th (Avner Rinot)




Yellow-billed Stork Mycteria ibis

A juv at Harod valley on the 15th (Niv Basor). Probably the same bird that has been seen earlier at Beit Shen valley


Eleonora's Falcon Falco eleonorae

A 1st summer dark morph bird at Dalton reservoir on the 15th (Shlomi Segali) 


Cream-Coloured Courser Cursorius cursor

45 were counted at southern Judean plains on the 14th (Ezra Hadad)


Caspian Tern Hydroprogne caspia

One at Maagan MIchael on the 15th (Amit Godlstein) 


European NIghtjar Caprimulgus europaeus

One trapped at the JBO on the 13th (JBO team).


Subalpine Warbler Sylvia cantillans

A male trapped at the JBO on the 14th (Gidon Perlman). The 2nd mid summer record for Jerusalem (and for Israel) during the last decade. 


Lesser Grey Shrike Lanius minor

One at Jerusalem on the 15th (Gidon Perlman). Extremely early vaungard. 




Yellow-billed Stork Mycteria ibis

One in a group of white storks west of Kfar Rupin, Beit Shean valley on the 9th (Ofir Lotan)


Pink-backed Pelican Pelecanus rufescens

One at Iron tourist lake, Upper Galilee on the 8th. Photographed. It is possible that this is the bird that spent the previous month at En-Hamifratz south of Acre.





Sooty Falcon Falco concolor

And adult seen and photographed at southern coastal plain (Gabriel Levitzky) where the species is now an annual summer visitor in recent years.

Four at Maagan MIchael on the 5th (Katya Rudnev) 


Terek Sandpiper Xenus cinereus

A group of three at Maagan Michael's beach on the 6th and 7th (David Kotter at all)


Long-tailed Skua Stercorarius longicaudus

Two at the North Beach on the 4th and one there on the 5th (Shachar Shalev, Oz Horin)

One at Maagan MIchael on the 6th-7th (David Kotter) 


European NIghtjar Caprimulgus europaeus

Three at Gan Shmuel fishponds on the 6th (Shai Blitzblaw). Can it be that the species breeds all over northern and central Israel in suitable habitats?

50 birds at the North Beach on the 3rd (Shachar Shalev). High number though more regular in recent years.

Five at the North Beach on the 3rd (Shachar Shalev)




Eastern Stonechat Saxicola maurus maurus

A breedign plumage male at LEhavot Habashan, Hula valley, on the 26th (Nitay Hayun et al.). Perhaps the only summer record of any saxicola up to date.
