One at Eilat's birding park on the 3rd (Rea Shaish). 10th record for Israel. 


Marbled Duck Marmaronetta angustirostris

50-60 at Hefer valley on the 3rd (Irad Slonik). Unprecedental number outside Jizrael and Hula valleys

One at Eilat's north beach on the 2nd (Ohad Sherer)

5 birds over Ramot to north-west on the 6th. Species cuoldn't be identified (L.Kislev) 


Scopoli's/Cory's Shearwater C. d. dimodea/borealis

One off Jaffa port on the 5th and two off Palmachim on the 6th (S. Alterman, B. Granit, P. Ish-Shalom et al.)

Medetrranean Gull Larus melanocephalus

One off Jaffa port on the 5th; one at Acre and two at Palmachim beach on the 6th ( B. Granit, P. Ish-Shalom, E. Dvir) 


Common Gull Larus canus

One at Harod reservoir and one at Shikmona, both on the 5th (Tuvia Khan, Avner Rinot et al.) 


Still there: 

Lesser White-fronted Goose Anser eruthropus - one still at Eilat's bird park


Red-breasted Merganser Mergus serrator - 1-2 are still at Acre


Red-rumped Wheatear Oenanthe moesta - the female is still at Uvda valley and so is the male of km 94 while the km 94's female was not relocated. 


Red-tailed Weatear Oenanthe Xanthoprymna - the male is still at Kibbutz Ketura


Basalt Wheatear Oenanthe lugens warriae - both birds of Uvda valley and Beer Ura are safe and sound. 





Bateleur Terathopius ecaudatus

A juv/imm  bird was photographed at Ruchama on the 7th as possibly the same bird was seen by Zeelim, NW Negev, some 35 km to the south, on the 3rd (Olga Chagin).

A male at Lochamey Hagetaot, northern coastal stripe (E. Haviv)


Crested Honey Buzzard Pernis ptilorhynchus

The bird with the missing primaries at its right wing that was photographed near Haifa University about a month ago was seen and photographed again at the same place on the 11th (N. Sapir et al.). A nice and first wintering record for northern Israel.

An adult at Afikim fishponds. northern Jordan valley on the 12th (Y. Porat et al.). Twitched and photographed by many. 4th Israeli record and a second one for this winter - amazing!

Leach's Storm Petrel Oceanodroma leucorhoa

One was found exhausted at Bet-yam shore south of Tel-aviv and was brought into care 


Yellow-browed Warbler Phylloscopus inornatus

One is suspected to over-winter along side the Hume's Warbler at Ironi Alef high-school at Tel-aviv (Z. Cohen-Sharon)

Birds continue at Hamadiya and Kfar Rupin at the Beit-shean valley on the 20th (A. Bluman)

Two, probably of that species off Maagan Michael on the 23rd (T Khan). Sadly, the exhausted bird that was collected on Bat-yam shore in the 21st and brought into care, hasn't made it.

Quite days, even at the Medditeranean coasts through stormy condtions at Thursday-Firday with only handful Med Gulls throughout.

One, poorly photographed, was reported near the IBRCE, Eilat (R. Shish, A. Libermann). 3rd Israeli record if accepted. Previously recorded in October 2004 at Maoz Haim, Beit-Shen Valley (S. Mann)
